DROP-INS

Our drop-ins give Questers the freedom to choose their own adventure. With Open Studio and Social Club options, we are certain your tween will find our space welcoming, collaborative, and filled with fun!

During Open Studio, Questers get a mini-session to work with all the technology in the Makerspace (3D printing, Cricut cutting machines, sewing machines, photo/video production and editing, hand-crafting). Bring all your creative ideas to life with a more focused atmosphere and plenty of guidance along the way!

During Social Club, get ready to party! We will play games, both traditional and video, listen to music, and hang out with friends. While we won’t be using the Makerspace machines, you will still have plenty of opportunities to make friends and memories!

  • All Side Quest Social Club activities are tailored to tweens aged 9-13 years old. If your child is outside of that range, please email to discuss before purchasing.

Address: 3411 W North Ave, Chicago, IL, 60647
We are located on the South side of North Ave, just west of Kimball. The Side Quest logo is on the door, but it is under the awning that says “Nevermore Performance Space”. The door will remain locked at all times. Please ring the doorbell located above the door handle, and I will let you in and get your child checked-in for the day.

Parking: There is a 30-minute Standing Zone on North Ave, just west of our front door. Feel free to utilize that with flashing lights for drop-off or pick-up.

Please do not drop-off more than 15 minutes before the scheduled time, and pick-up no later than 15 minutes after our end time.

Child Release: Please note that we will not release your child to someone who is not listed on the Registration Form. We will ask to see a form of identification before releasing to verify the names on file.

What to Pack: Being prepared for a class at Side Quest means bringing along any food/snacks you may need, and a water bottle. If you would like to bring any materials to elevate or enhance your project, you are welcome to bring those along.

What to Leave at Home: Personal technology devices (cell phones, tablets, iPads, smart watches, etc.) If devices are brought to Side Quest, they will remain in your child’s locker during their time at Side Quest.

  • A few days before your camp begins, you will receive an email with any pertinent information for the group, including any allergies for the time we are together.

  • If you need to cancel for any reason, please let me know. I will try my best to get your kiddo(s) into another day camp if something comes up! Our club is intentionally small to provide the best experience, but that also means, we have a little wiggle-room when it comes to shifting schedules around to accommodate last-minute life-happenings.

If you must cancel, our cancellation policy is as follows:
    - More than four weeks: 90% refundable (covers our administrative fees)
    - Between four and two weeks: 50% refundable
    - Less than two weeks and Navigators: Non-refundable

Since our time will be shorter, certifications and instructions will be given one-on-one or in small groups, as requested.

Group size will be decided based on the session, but most will range from 8-15 tweens. Since this is a social club, group work will always be suggested, and sometimes required to participate.

Being prepared for a class at Side Quest means bringing along any food/snacks you may need, and a water bottle. If you would like to bring any materials to elevate or enhance your project, you are welcome to bring those along.

Drop-in Questers are expected to clean as they go, or with every transition from one activity to the next.
