Our Philosophy

Side Quest Social Club was created out of the idea that our kids are over-scheduled, overwhelmed, and under-socialized. We looked at our own children, and wanted to create a place where tweens could feel empowered to make their own choices, where they were given opportunities to learn new skills while creating, and spend time with other kids, IRL. As adults, we figured this was something the kids would enjoy, but we never anticipated just how much they would thrive in this environment.

By allowing Questers to explore their interests, we encourage them to become life-long learners and to take ownership of their personal process and progress. You will find lots of great finished products in our images and displayed in the space, but there are just as many (if not more) fails, happy accidents, and discarded projects along the way. And, that is exactly what we like to see. Exploring the world is a natural activity and when the adults trust children, they develop confidence to trust themselves.

Creative kids can be found everywhere, but a lot of the time they don’t feel like they fit. At Side Quest, they now have a place where they can be creative without structure, be vulnerable without fear of failure, and the freedom to be themselves without reprimand.

We want this to be a place your tween WANTS to be. The environment will be a place built on mutual respect as we all try new things, inspire each other, and meet new friends along the way!
